This alleged saying of St. Columba, the 6th century missionary monk who reintroduced Christianity to Scotland, mixes the celtic themes of nature and spirituality in a quatrefoil geometric design enhanced by roundels depicting elements from stories about Columba's life; his boat, a sea monster, a bird and a pair of fish.

'Angel nor saint have I seen
but I have heard the roar of the western sea
and the isle of my heart
is in the midst of it.'
